What Is PRF?
If you have any experience with cosmetic procedures, you may have heard of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a concentration of your platelets that we inject during vampire facials. Platelet-rich fibrin is similar but think of it as the next generation of PRP.
Platelet-rich fibrin contains high concentrations of white blood cells, fibrin, and a small number of stem cells from your bloodstream. Your Elite Medi Spa professional injects the substance under your eyes, where these factor-rich cells attach to the fibrin network to effectively slow release these stimulating factors responsible for creating new skin cells, collagen, and other supporting components beneath the skin’s surface.
The PRF Treatment Process
The first step in your PRF process is scheduling a consultation with one of our Elite Medi Spa professionals. This allows you to discuss your goals and expectations, and our team can help you decide if PRF is right for you. If you choose to move forward, we’ll schedule an appointment to perform the procedure.
When you come to our Bend office for your PRF procedure, we’ll take blood and immediately place it into our processing equipment. This machine separates the PRF from other blood components. We’ll inject the PRF into the areas you want to address, much like the process we use with regular fillers.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour and typically requires between two and three appointments, depending on your goals. You may experience slight stinging during the injection, but you’ll have minimal discomfort otherwise.
Who Is a Good Candidate for PRF?
The best thing about PRF for your eyes is that anyone is a candidate, and since we use your blood, there are very few risks and contraindications. PRF is also great to use at any age. As we get into our late 20s, our bodies are already starting to break collagen down faster. Since PRF boosts collagen production, it can be a great preventative measure to avoid early signs of aging and help reduce their appearance in the future.

In other cases, we’ll start with two treatments a few weeks apart and then schedule an annual touchup appointment.
